There are a lot of talented songwriters in Nashville. A lot of hit songs. A lot of people who can walk into a room with a guitar and immediately impress an audience. But after years of producing these experiences, we’ve learned that talent alone isn’t what makes a room truly connect.

What changes the dynamic is culture.

Because in this format, the best moments rarely come from one person trying to own the stage. They come from chemistry. From awareness. From the ability to read the room, support each other naturally, and understand that the experience works best when it feels connected instead of individual.

At its core, a songwriter round is simple. A few writers sharing songs and the stories behind them. But when the right people are in the room together, something different starts to happen. The conversation flows naturally. One story leads into another. The humor feels effortless. The songs feel emotionally connected, even when they were written years apart by different people for different artists.

And the audience feels that.

They stop looking at it as a performance and start engaging with it more personally. Songs they’ve heard for years suddenly take on new meaning because now they’re connected to a face, a memory, a story, or a moment that makes them feel more human than polished.

That only happens when the writers on stage understand that this format isn’t about competing for attention.

The best songwriters in these settings know when to step forward and when to step back. They listen as much as they play. They understand pacing. They understand generosity. They understand that making the overall experience better matters more than making any single moment about themselves.

And honestly, a big part of it simply comes down to character.

The people we work with are not only incredibly talented writers and performers, they’re genuinely good people. They’re thoughtful with clients. Respectful of the room. Supportive of each other. Easy to work with. They understand professionalism matters just as much as performance.

They’re also great partners.

That matters to us.

Because what we’re building only works when the people involved genuinely care about the overall experience, the clients we serve, and the reputation we’re building together over time.

The closest comparison isn’t a concert. It’s a great team.

You can have incredible individual talent, but without chemistry and shared awareness, it never quite becomes what it could be. But when the dynamic is right, you can feel it almost immediately. And audiences feel that authenticity. Clients feel that trust. The entire room relaxes into it because what’s happening on stage feels genuine.

That’s a big reason why we’re selective about who we work with.

There’s no shortage of talented writers. But talent alone isn’t the standard. We look for people who value connection, collaboration, storytelling, and the audience experience as much as the songs themselves.

Because ultimately, what we’re building isn’t simply another songwriter round. It’s an intentional environment where stories, music, humor, personality, emotion, and human connection all work together to create a magical experience.

That’s also why our theme this year has been It Starts with a Songwriter.

Not just the songs, but the people behind them. Their perspective. Their stories. Their ability to connect with a room — and with each other — in a way audiences can genuinely feel.

And in a world that increasingly feels filtered, rushed, and noisy, that kind of authenticity matters more than ever.
