We've been producing Songwriter City experiences across Texas for years—from Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston to Beaumont, Midland, Odessa, San Angelo and El Paso.

There's a reason they feel so natural here.

Texas has always had its own relationship with music. Country, blues, Americana, Texas country and Red Dirt all have deep roots in the state. Honky-tonks, dance halls, and listening rooms are part of the culture, and generations of Texans have told their stories through songs.

So when planners want to give guests an experience that feels genuinely connected to Texas, music is a natural place to start.

Texas Has Its Own Musical Language

Texas isn't simply another stop on the country music map. It has its own traditions, artists, sounds and ways of gathering around music.

In Nashville, we might call it a songwriter round. In Texas, there's a long tradition of song swaps—songwriters sitting together, trading songs and stories and letting the conversation move naturally around the room.

That spirit is very close to what Songwriter City has always been about.

We also have more than 20 songwriters in our circle who are proud Texas natives, including some of the most accomplished songwriters in music and 10 of them are Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame members. But the connection runs much deeper than where someone is from.

The songwriting communities of Texas and Nashville have always been closely connected. Songwriters we work with regularly write with Texas writers and artists across genres. Their songs have been recorded by artists including Cody Johnson, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Kacey Musgraves, Parker McCollum, and Wade Bowen, among many others.

Those relationships go back years and cross genres, cities and generations. Texas songwriters come to Nashville to write. Nashville songwriters head to Texas. Artists move between both worlds. Songs do too.

So when we curate a Songwriter City experience in Texas, we're not trying to manufacture a connection to the state. In many cases, that connection is already part of the songwriters, the songs and the relationships behind them.

Sometimes the right experience might lean more deeply into Texas-centric music. Other times, it's simply two or three extraordinary hit songwriters performing the songs they created and telling the stories behind them.

The point isn't to create a Texas theme. It's to create an experience that naturally belongs in Texas.

A Sense of Place

That's especially valuable for corporate meetings, incentive programs, executive retreats, association events, client gatherings, VIP programs and private events.

Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston and West Texas all have their own character. So rather than trying to make every Texas event look or sound the same, the experience can be curated around the destination, the audience and the reason people are gathering.

And it can take many forms—from an intimate executive dinner or ranch gathering to an incentive event or ballroom with several hundred guests. The scale can change without losing the connection between the songwriters and the audience.

And wherever we are in Texas, that connection comes back to something deeply rooted in the state: music, storytelling and the way the two have always belonged together.

Texas has always had great stories and some of the best have been told through songs.
