Rhett Akins – Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee, Hit Songwriter & Songwriter City Partner
Rhett Akins is a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, CMA Songwriter of the Decade (2010–2019), and one of the most successful songwriters in modern country music, with over 35 #1 singles and counting.
A native of Georgia, Rhett launched his career as a recording artist with Decca Records, releasing his debut album A Thousand Memories in 1995. The project produced four chart singles, including his first #1 hit — the now-classic “That Ain’t My Truck”. His 1996 follow-up, Somebody New, delivered another #1 with “Don’t Get Me Started”, solidifying his place on the charts.
Beyond his own career as an artist, Rhett has become one of Nashville’s most sought-after hitmakers. His chart-toppers include Luke Bryan’s “I Don’t Want This Night to End” and “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day”, Blake Shelton’s “Honey Bee”, “All About Tonight”, and “Boys ’Round Here”, Jason Aldean’s “When She Says Baby” and “Tonight Looks Good on You”, Thomas Rhett’s “It Goes Like This”, “Star of the Show”, and “Life Changes”, Jon Pardi’s “Dirt on My Boots”, and Dustin Lynch’s “Small Town Boy”, among many others.
Rhett’s talent has earned him multiple BMI Songwriter of the Year awards, seven CMA Triple Play Awards (given for writing three #1 songs in a 12-month period). His influence extends far beyond the radio charts, shaping the sound of country music for more than two decades.
As a Songwriter City partner, Rhett Akins brings his unmatched catalog, humor, and down-to-earth storytelling to corporate events, private concerts, and special performances — giving audiences a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the songs that have defined a generation.
