Liz Rose – Grammy-Winning Nashville Songwriter and Hall of Fame Member
Liz Rose is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, 2023 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, and founder of a successful music publishing company. Born and raised in the Dallas, Texas area, Liz moved to Nashville in the mid-1990s and began writing songs at the age of 37 — quickly proving that it’s never too late to make an extraordinary mark on music.

But Liz is perhaps best known for her long-running collaboration with Taylor Swift, co-writing more than 20 songs together — including the #1 crossover hits “Teardrops on My Guitar”, “You Belong With Me” (2010 BMI Song of the Year), “Tim McGraw”, and “White Horse” (Grammy Award for Best Country Song).
In 2012, Liz earned the ACM Award for Song of the Year for Eli Young Band’s “Crazy Girl”. In 2015, she won both the CMA Award and Grammy Award for Best Country Song for “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town, co-written with Hillary Lindsey and Lori McKenna, the powerhouse trio known as The Love Junkies.
Her songs have been recorded by some of music’s most respected voices, including Tim McGraw, Dan + Shay, Alison Krauss, Blake Shelton, Lee Ann Womack, Chris Young, Bonnie Raitt, and many others. Liz is also a proud member of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Liz Rose
Songwriter | Publisher | Entrepreneur | Storyteller
Liz Rose has one of the most remarkable and unconventional success stories in modern music.
A Grammy Award-winning songwriter, publisher, entrepreneur, and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, Liz didn't follow the traditional path to Nashville success. She didn't grow up performing on stage, and she doesn't play an instrument. In fact, she didn't write her first song until her late 30s after moving to Nashville from Texas and beginning a career on the business side of the music industry.
What followed was one of the most extraordinary second acts in country music history.
Liz went on to become one of Nashville's most successful songwriters, writing hits recorded by Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack, and many others. She is perhaps best known for her longtime creative partnership with Taylor Swift, co-writing songs including “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” “White Horse,” “You Belong With Me,” and “All Too Well.” Her catalog also includes Little Big Town's Grammy-winning “Girl Crush” and numerous other award-winning songs that have shaped modern country music.
Beyond songwriting, Liz built Liz Rose Music, one of Nashville's most respected independent publishing companies. Founded with her son, Scott Ponce, the company operates on a simple philosophy: "Great Songs, Great People." Through artist development, mentorship, and talent discovery, Liz has helped launch and support the careers of some of today's most successful songwriters while continuing to advocate for the creative community she loves.
Whether participating in a keynote session, fireside chat, songwriter round, or panel discussion, Liz combines songs, stories, audience interaction, and conversation to create authentic and engaging experiences. Through her unique journey as a songwriter, publisher, entrepreneur, and mentor, she can explore themes such as reinvention, creativity, leadership, resilience, entrepreneurship, talent development, collaboration, and the power of trusting your instincts.
Known for her warmth, wisdom, and approachable style, Liz offers audiences a rare perspective on building meaningful careers, recognizing potential in others, and creating environments where creativity and people can thrive.
Through her songs, stories, and conversations, Liz demonstrates that success is not always about where you begin—it's about having the courage to start, the willingness to learn, and the commitment to invest in people along the way.
