Natalie Hemby is a two-time GRAMMY Award winner and one of the most influential songwriters of her generation. With eight #1 singles and a catalog that spans genres and decades, her fingerprints are all over some of the biggest hits in country and pop music.
Her chart-topping hits include Lady A’s “Downtown,” Little Big Town’s “Pontoon” and “Tornado,” Miranda Lambert’s “White Liar,” “Bluebird,” and “Automatic,” Justin Moore’s “You Look Like I Need A Drink,” and Jon Pardi’s “Heartache Medication.” She’s also written notable songs for a diverse array of artists including Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Mumford & Sons, Carrie Underwood, NEEDTOBREATHE, Carly Pearce, Maren Morris, Amy Grant, Dierks Bentley, Labrinth, Toby Keith, Lee Ann Womack, and more.
“Automatic” earned Hemby a GRAMMY Award for Best Country Song in 2015, along with wins and nominations from the ACM, NSAI, and CMA. Her talent has also extended into film, co-writing two standout tracks for the chart-topping A Star Is Born soundtrack: “Always Remember Us This Way” (GRAMMY-nominated for Song of the Year) and “I’ll Never Love Again,” which won the 2020 GRAMMY for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
In 2017, Natalie released her debut solo album Puxico and joined Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on tour, marking the beginning of a powerful new chapter as a recording artist. Her 2021 follow-up, Pins and Needles, is a stunning showcase of her sharp storytelling and soulful, expressive vocals.
Natalie is also a founding member of the GRAMMY-winning supergroup The Highwomen, alongside Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile, and Amanda Shires. With songs like “Redesigning Women” and “Crowded Table” (both co-written by Hemby), the group’s inaugural album debuted at #1 on the country charts and earned global critical acclaim.
Whether she’s writing for others or stepping into the spotlight herself, Natalie Hemby brings unmatched heart, depth, and authenticity to every note. She’s not just the voice behind the hits — she is the voice.
At a Songwriter City event, Natalie doesn’t just perform hit songs — she invites the audience into the creative process behind them. Her presence is powerful, her stories are unforgettable, and her artistry leaves a lasting impression.
