In 2006, Brett won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song for “Jesus, Take the Wheel” (Carrie Underwood), the same year he was named ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year — an honor he earned again in 2010. He has also been recognized as Music Row Magazine’s Songwriter of the Year (2015), received more than 40 ASCAP hit song awards, and is a three-time CMA Triple Play Award winner.
